A new office block is incomplete without adequately placed engraved directional signs. Not only are the signs useful for the staff in the offices, but they are also vital for directing customers. However, an engraved sign is only as useful as the integrity of its mounting. There is no need to spend tons of money designing exquisitely carved signs only to find them on the floor the next day. Proper mounting is a critical consideration when preparing engraved signs, and your choice will determine how long the signs stay up. This article highlights mounting options for engraved signs.

Industrial Double-Sided Foam Tape

It is arguably one of the most common mounting options available for engraved signs for two obvious reasons. First, industrial double-sided foam tape comes in two forms: thin and wide tape. Thin double-sided foam tapes are appropriate for smaller-sized engraved signs due to the low weight. However, if your engraved signs are relatively big, then a wide tape will do the job. Second, the double-sided foam tape eliminates the need for screws, and this is critical if you want to preserve the sign's surface. Besides, double-sided industrial foam is the easiest to install. All you have to do is peel the protective layer from the strips and affix it on the backside of the engraved sign. That said, a double-sided foam tape only works on a solid mounting surface. Therefore, if your wall or door is made from porous or coarse material, the tape will not bond effectively, thus putting the engraved sign at risk of falling.

Velcro Mounting

It is another mounting option that is proving popular in commercial facilities. Velcro mounting incorporates hooks and loops which work together to ensure engraved signs stay mounted securely. The type of engraved sign mounting is especially appropriate for situations where interchangeability of signs is critical. For instance, in cases where floor plans or personnel change regularly, it is easy to remove the sign from the Velcro mounting and relocate it to another door or wall. No mess and no fuss.

Magnetic Tape

It is a two-part magnetic mounting system that incorporates a metal foil and magnetic strips to mount engraved signs. It is important to note that the metal foil and the magnetic strip work together, and therefore choosing one over the other won't work. If you believe that magnetic tape will meet your engraved signs mounting needs, adhere the magnetic part onto the sign and the foil onto the mounting surface. Magnetic tapes work best on non-movable surfaces such as walls. However, if you have to use the signs on doors and windows, make sure the magnetic tape is strong enough to withstand sudden regular movements.
